Volunteer Programme

Volunteers are made an integral part of the organisational structure. Volunteers will receive guidance and support which will lead to personal growth and development as well as have a positive impact on the young people and wider community.

Volunteers are recruited for various positions within Fuse. The main role is a Volunteer Youth Worker which involves assisting in the Junior and Senior drop in sessions. Depending on your skills and experience, there may be an opportunity to support us with specific programmes, fundraising or office based tasks.

Fuse volunteer role

A Volunteer Youth Worker is the main volunteer role within Fuse. This position involves:

  • Assisting in the Junior and Senior drop in sessions

  • Building a good relationship with the young people and being a good listener

  • Facilitating and participating in games and activities with the young people

  • Helping staff with the set-up and clean-up of various programmes/activities

  • Commitment to attend team meetings, training opportunities and individual support and supervision

Do you have what it takes?

  • Open to anyone over the age of 14. 

  • Approachable and responsive to the young people’s needs

  • Supportive of young people’s participation

  • Reliable and trustworthy

  • To have a sense of fun

  • Helpful, enthusiastic and motivated

  • Willing to learn new skills and develop your own programmes
